Lord Sadaiudayar, the presiding deity is the Kula Deivam (family deity) of a select set of  Hindus  mainly from Southern  Tamilnadu . This temple is mainly patronized by the  matrilinear  descendants of the Ettu Pillai Kootthar (family of the 8 sons).
