Bhavanarayana Temple had been constructed by the great king Krimikantha Chola in 1465 and was restored by  King  Vasireddi Venkatadrinaidu of Amravati kingdom in 1856. The Temple was built by  Cholakings  was in stone. The Galigopuram was built 200 years ago by Jamindar of Challapalli Sri Raja Vasireddi venkatadri Naidu in Brick and mortar. On 23 Oct 2011 this Galigopuram structure collapsed.
