Presiding Deity is called as Manathunai Nathar / Idhaya Kamala Nadhar and Mother is called as Valaiyanganni / Angayarkanni / Madhyayadakshi / Maazhaiyon Kanni. This Temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Thevaram hymns. This Temple is the 238th Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 121st sthalam on the south side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Hridayaleeswarar / Manavaleswarar and Mother is called as Maragathambigai. The Temple is located very close to Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple (Divya Desam) in Thiruninravur. The Temple is believed to be built during 7th Century AD by Raja Simha Pallava.
