Legends Anjaneya of the temple was a pavement deity about 90 year ago on the second platform of Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction. The railway staff and the passengers used to worship him. In the year 1928, when works began to link the railway line of Erode and Nagapattinam, Armsby, the then General Manager of Railway district ordered removal of this Anjaneya.
