 Manakkudi Sundareswarar Temple

 Arulmigu Sundareswarar Temple is located in the village of Manakkudi, about 5 km from Mayiladuthurai.

 This temple does not seem to have been consecrated after 1941!

 It was very distressing to see the condition of the temple.

 The temple pond was adorned with beautiful lilies.  There is a beautiful staircase.  The villagers keep the pond clean. There is a lot of water in the pond as the access to the pond is not blocked.

Since the temple was in ruins and unprotected, the gurus who told him that the Karunguyil Nathanpet next to the Natarajar statue in the temple was safe in the Arulmigu Sakthipureeswarar temple, told him that Natarajar would come from there in a little while and look away.  Is the temple open?  He said it was open and left.  But disappointed to go inside.  Goddess, Swami Sannathi was locked.  Other shrines were open due to lack of door.  We have seen.  Natarajar came to the Sunreswarar temple by a different route when he thought we should wait and went to see the Sakathipureeswarar temple he said.

 Then we came to Sundareswarar temple again.  Swami and Ambal were now there without anyone around. We were the fortunate to get this darshan only to ourselves.

There were beautiful Sivaganas on both sides near Natarajar's Thiruvadi.  One played the panchamugavatiyam.  Another was keeping the rhythm.  These statues could be seen as there were no decorations like garlands.

 Swami was cleaning around the temple to get around.  Apart from the Swami Sannathi and Ambal Sannathi, there were no other doors so I could see well.  The beautiful temple, with two round walls (inside and outside), is without care.

 Outer and inner prakarams are kept tidy for Natarajar  to go round.

 If you take the specialty of the temple to the people and the crowd will come to the temple (now all the temples advertise its specialty) the pride of this temple owned by Dharmapura Aadeen is that it is the place where Lord Kailai came to stay to marry Parvati.  That's why the name Manakkudi sounds like this town!  They say that virgins worship here to get good husband.

மணக்குடி சுந்தரேஸ்வரர் கோயில்

 ஆருத்ரா தரிசனம் சமயத்தில் மட்டுமே திறந்து இருக்கும் ஒரு கோவில். 

மயிலாடுதுறையிலிருந்து ஐந்து கிலோமீட்டர் தூரத்தில் உள்ள மணக்குடி என்ற கிராமத்தில் உள்ள அருள்மிகு சுந்தேரஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயில்.

திருக்கோயிலின் கிழக்குவாயில்

1941க்கு பிறகு இந்தக் கோவிலுக்கு கும்பாபிஷேகமே ஆகவில்லை போலும்!

கோவிலின் நிலையைப் பார்த்தால் மனதுக்கு மிகவும் கஷ்டமாய் இருந்தது.

கோவில் குளம் மிக அழகாய் அல்லி மலர்கள் மலர்ந்து காணப்பட்டது. அழகிய படித்துறை உள்ளது. கிராமமக்கள் குளத்தை சுத்தமாக வைத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.குளத்திற்கு தண்ணீர் வரும் வழிகள் அடைக்கப்படாமல் இருப்பதால் நிறைய தண்ணீர் இருக்கிறது குளத்தில்.

 இந்த கோவில் சிதிலம் அடைந்து பாதுகாப்பு இல்லாமல் இருப்பதால் இந்தக்கோயிலுக்குரிய நடராசர் திருஉருவச்சிலை பக்கத்தில் உள்ள கருங்குயில்நாதன்பேட்டை, அருள்மிகு சக்திபுரீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோவிலில் பாதுகாப்பாக இருப்பதாக சொன்ன குருக்கள் இன்னும் சிறிது நேரத்தில் அங்கிருந்து நடராஜர் வருவார், இருந்து பார்த்து செல்லுங்கள்  என்றுசொல்லிப்போய் விட்டார். கோவில் திறந்து இருக்கிறதா ? என்று கேட்டால் திறந்து இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போய் விட்டார். ஆனால் உள்ளே போனால் ஏமாற்றம். அம்மன் , சுவாமி சன்னதி பூட்டி இருந்தது.  மற்ற சன்னதிகள் கதவு இல்லாததால் திறந்து இருந்தது . பார்த்து விட்டோம். நாங்கள் காத்து இருக்க வேண்டுமே என்று நினைத்து அவர் சொன்ன சகதிபுரீஸ்வரர் கோவிலுக்கே போய் பார்த்துவிடலாம் என்று  போனபோது நடராசர்  வேறு பாதை வழியாக சுந்ரேஸ்வரர் கோவிலுக்கு வந்து விட்டார்.

பின் மறுபடியும் சுந்தரேஸ்வரர் கோவிலுக்கு வந்தோம்.  தனியாக யாரும் இல்லாமல்  சுவாமியும், அம்பாளும் இப்போது அங்கே எழுந்தருளி இருந்தார்கள். எங்களுக்கே எங்களுக்கு மட்டும் காட்சி கொடுத்த மாதிரி இருந்தார்கள்.

பூதகணம்

அழகான நடராஜர்! அம்பாள்!  நடராஜரின்  திருவடி அருகில் இருபுறமும் அழகான சிவகணங்கள் இருந்தார்கள். ஒருவர் பஞ்சமுகவாத்தியம் வாசித்தார். இன்னொருவர் தாளம் வைத்து இருந்தார். பூமாலைகள் முதலிய அலங்காரங்கள் எதுவும் இல்லாதிருந்ததால் இவ்வுருவங்களைப் பார்க்கமுடிந்தது.

ஸ்வாமி சுற்றி வருவதற்காக கோவிலைச் சுற்றிலும் சுத்தம் செய்து இருந்தார்கள்.  சுவாமி சன்னதி, அம்பாள் சன்னதி தவிர மற்றவை கதவுகள் இல்லாமல் இருந்ததால் நன்கு தரிசனம் செய்ய முடிந்தது. இரண்டு சுற்று மதில் சுவர்கள் உள்ள (உள்பிரகாரம்,வெளிப் பிரகாரம்) அழகிய கோவில், கவனிப்பு இல்லாமல் இருக்கிறது.

உள்பிரகாரம், வெளிப் பிரகாரம் நடுவில் நடராஜர் சுற்றி வர சுத்தம் செய்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

கோவிலில் உள்ள சிறப்பை மக்களுக்கு எடுத்துச் சொன்னால் கோவிலுக்குக் கூட்டம் வரும்  ( இப்போது எல்லாம் எல்லாக் கோவில்களிலும்  அதன் சிறப்பை விளம்பரம் செய்கிறார்கள்) இந்த  தருமபுர ஆதீனத்திற்கு சொந்தமான கோவிலின் பெருமை என்னவென்றால் ,இது பார்வதியை மணக்க இறைவன் கயிலையிலிருந்து வந்து தங்கிய இடம். அதனால்தான்  தான் மணக்குடி என்று இவ்வூருக்குப் பெயர் போலும்!  கன்னிப் பெண்கள் நல்ல கணவர் கிடைக்க வழிபட வேண்டிய இடம் என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.
