 Temple info -2179 கோயில் தகவல் -2179 The Sri Ananthavalli sametha Agastheeswarar Malai kovil temple is situated in Kancheepuram District, Mathuranthakam Taluk, on the Chennai – Tiruchy National highway. This temple was constructed in 1097 AD by Kulothunga Chola III and was later maintained by King Raja Raja. This temple later became dilapidated due to a lack of proper maintenance. Lord Shiva and Parvathy, according to legend, gave Sage Agastya darshan on this hill. Reconstruction work in this temple is now progressing under Lord Agastheewarar's guidance. We first come across Lord Vinayaga, also known as Pathala Vinayagar, as we ascend the stairs, and after offering him prayers, we proceed to Goddess Ananthavalli shrine, which is located on the South Prakaram. Lord Agatheswara is depicted as a linga.  Temple info -2178 கோயில் தகவல் -2178 Sri Kannur Amman Temple, Vada Virinjipuram, Near Virinjipuram, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu This is an Amman Temple known as Arulmigu Kannur Amman Temple located on the main road in Vadavirinchipuram close to Virinjipuram.  The Presiding Deity is Arulmigu Kannur Amman who is made out of a Black Idol and kept in the Sanctum Sanctorum.  Opposite to the main building of the Sanctum is a tinned roofing under which a Simha Vaahanam of a Lion and a Bali Peedam carved out of a black stone are kept.  Close to it is a Thirusoolam or a Trident and a camphor stand.  There is another Swayambhu Kannur Amman which many say as the original Kannur Amman and this is found adjacent to the Main Shrine beneath a Arasa Maram and a Neem Tree.  This area is like a Divine Shrine with a mini compound but it does not have a roofing and Devotees come and pray before the Swayambhu Amman with reverence.  Close to it is an Anthill and this is worshipped too.  Opposite to the Ma

Road, Kannur.  The presiding deity is Sri Kamakshiamman in the roopa of santha swaroopam.  The upadevas are as following. RUDRATHANDAVA MOORTHY – Kaval Deivam (Chodalamadan/Smasanavasm) GURU – Adhi guru of Khestrastalam ASWATHA NAGA VINAYAKAR – The sanctum sanctoruim is installed with Naga prathista along with Vinayakar behind the banyan (Aswatha) tree. UCHUMA KALI – Kaval Deivam DURGA (RAHU) SRI BALA SUBRAMANIYAM The renouned temple is said to be 700 years old, and was worshipped with sankalpa prathista as Thrisoolam. It seems the same was worshipped by divine saint as his Ishtadevada Sri. Kamakshiamman. The saint at present we presume as GURU, on his journey or divine yatra found this place as sacred, hence discontinued his yatra and started his rituals and poojas at this sanctity.  It is told that the Divine Guru has reached his ultimate and still living in this premises.

The temple is situated on the banks of Cauvery river. Farmers from this region pray to Lord Anjaneya for good agricultural yields. Legends As per legend, two monkeys helped in building a bridge across the Cauvery river. The two monkeys took rest in an Illupai forest nearby after the completion of the bridge works and died in that spot itself. The Seetharamaswamy Temple, Pushpagiri enshrines Lord Seetharaman within the ‘Srikovil’ that boasts a stunning ‘Gajaprashta’ spire that is not commonly seen in Kerala temple architecture. Apart from Sita Rama enshrined in the main sanctum facing west, Hanuman, Lakshmana, Ganapati, Sri Parvati, Shiva, and Subrahmanya, are also enshrined in the temple, and now the Navagraha and Dharmashasta are separately enshrined within the premises. There is also a Shiva temple a little away from the sanctum sanctorum but within this temple's premises.  Temple info -2174 கோயில் தகவல் -2174 Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Alkur, Raichur District, Karnataka This Temple is located in Alkur just 100 meters away from 12 Jyothirlinga Temple and it is believed to have been built around 500 years ago.  It has a small Welcome Arch.  The Presiding Deity here is Mallikarjunaswamy who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. On entering the Temple there is a pedestal on which a stone Dwajasthambam is kept and close to it is a Naga Devatha Statue.  On entering the Main Temple both sides are neatly tiled with stone pillars which are so nice to see.  In the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Shiva as Mallikarjuna Swamy is worshipped as a Lingam with the Serpant God standing guard as His Kavasam.  Behind Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy is God Vishnu made out of a black stone.  Both these Idols are said to be Swayambhu in nature.  This Temple is very unique since Maha Vishnu and Shiva occupy the same Sanctum Sanctorum and this is not found in many of the other similar Temple.  F

This Agastheeswarar Temple at Orathur is on the way to Padappai from Siruvanjur, in Chengalpattu District. This place was called as Oorathur during Pallava and Chozha's period and latter got corrupted to the present name of Orathur. It is believed that, this is one of the 108 Shiva Lingas installed and worshiped by the  Sage Agasthiyar in Thondai Nadu.
