 Temple info -3051 கோயில் தகவல்-3051 Arulmigu Paaleeswarar Sivan Temple, Alapakkam, Porur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu Previous Next This Temple is located in Alapakkam which is part of Porur in Chennai.  There is a Welcome Arch at the beginning of the street where the Temple is located.  Lord Shiva in the form of a Lingam is the Presiding Deity here and is known by the name Paaleeswarar.  Goddess Parvathi is called by the name Paaleeswari.  Unlike other Shiva Temples the Lingam is placed on a square pedestal instead of a circular one and hence this is an indication that the Temple was constructed during the Pallava Period.  The first Kumbabishekam was done in the year 1994.  There is a Sthupi here in which Vaali, Sangu Chakkaram and Garuda are here.  There are Shrines for Nardhana Ganapathi, Dakshinamurthy,  Brahma, Vishnu, Durgai, Chandeekeswarar, Kaala Bhairavar,  Seetha Ramar Sannadhi, Anjaneyar apart  from a Navagraha Sannadhi....

 Temple info -2783 கோயில் தகவல் -2783 Sri Paleeswarar Temple (Niruddhi Lingam), Thiruverkadu Moolavar : Sri Paleeswarar Amman : Balambigai Amman This is the Nirudhilingam of the Ashtalingams that is around the Vedapureeswarar of Mangadu. It is presumed to be from the time of the reign of the great CHOLA King KULOTHUNGA CHOLA II, (1133 - 1150 CE) about 800 years ago or more and must have  passed through many dynasties. The temple is in a fairly large compound, without a Rajagopuram,on entrance you can find a small but beautiful Nandi Mandapam with Nandin. After this is the mukhamandapam with multiple pillars decorated with fascinating sculptures.  On the far end of this Mandapam is a small antarala which leads to the Garbhgriha of the Lord as a Lingam facing east known as BALEESHWARAR. To his left is the sanctum of Goddess Parvati as BALAMBIGAI. On circumambulation the Koshtha walls of the Garbhgriha is lined up with Vinayaka,Dakshinamurthy,Lingothbhavar,Brahma & Durga...

 Temple info -1430 கோயில் தகவல் -1430 Paaleeswarar Temple, Thirupalaivanam, Thiruvallur Paaleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thirupalaivanam Village near Ponneri located in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Paleeswarar / Palliswarar / Amrutheswarar. Mother is called as Logambigadevi / Balambigai. The main shrine is built as per the Gajabrushta architectural style.  Legends Some Portions of Amrutha turned into Shiva Lingam: As per the legend, the Devas and the Asuras were churning the milky ocean. Amrutha (nectar) came out of that ocean. Some portion of the nectar was turned into a Shiva Linga. It was worshiped by the Devas and then by the sages Agastya and Markandeya.
