Known as Parkavesam (Saptha Sthanat Thalam 6), it is the sixth of the Shiva Sapthadhana Thalams in Kanchipuram. Moreover, this deity is the form worshipped by Bhrigu Munivar. References to this temple are mentioned separately in the Kanchi Purana.

 History of the temple

Since sage Brigu Munivar worshipped this deity in Kanchi, the temple is known as Parkaveshwarar and Parkeeswarar.

Location

This temple is located in the Orikai Government Nagar area on the road leading to Uthiramerur in the southern part of Kanchi, the capital of Kanchipuram district. It is 78 kilometres from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, and 3 kilometres from the Kanchipuram bus stand, just across the Vegavathi River.

பார்க்கவேசம் (சப்த ஸ்தானத் தலம் 6) என அறிவது, காஞ்சிபுரத்திலுள்ள சிவ சப்ததான தலங்களில் ஆறாவது தலமாகும். மேலும், இவ்விறைவர் பிருகு முனிவர் வழிப்பட்ட திருமூர்த்தியாவார். இத்தலம் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் காஞ்சிப் புராணத்தில் தனிப்படலமாகச் சொல்லப்பட்டு காணப்படுகின்றன.
