Temple info -1708 கோயில் தகவல் -1708 Kandaswamy Temple, Poravacherry, Nagapattinam Kandaswamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan located in Poravacherry in Sikkal Town in Nagapattinam Taluk in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. This temple is linked closely with the temples in Ettukudi and Enkan Murugan Temples, through the legend that the images of Skanda in all three of these shrines were made by the same sculptor. Lord Murugan of this Temple is praised by Saint Arunagirinathar in his revered Thirupugazh hymns. Legends As per legend, the region was under the control of Chola King in ancient period. He ordered a sculptor from Porulvaitha Cheri village to sculpt an idol of Lord Murugan for safeguarding the region. He sculpted an idol of the Lord Murugan with six faces on peacock.
