Thiruvarur District, Kudavasal Circle, Pulyanchery Shiva Temple

 On the Kumbakonam – Thiruvarur highway, next to Nachiarkoil, on the Mathur-Achuthamangalam road, 9 km from Pilawadi, 1 km on the Baruthiyur road and turn left, Pulyancheri is located.  It is also 10 km from Achuthamangalam.  This place is called 27. Puliancheri because there are many Puliancheris.

 During the Vijayanagara king Krishnadevarayara's time, the town was called Pulayancheri.  Along with this Pulayancheri and another town called Madhurandaka Nallur, he named it Sri Narasimendrapuram and gifted it to Hastagiri, the son of Bhaskara Bhattar.  This town was a village under Alur Sawadi in Kulothungachola Valanadu.

 Puliancheri is a village on the banks of Mudikonda river.  A very small village, only 100 houses.  There is a large pond and four streets around it.

 In this small village Kailasanathar temple and Vishwanathar temple are located side by side.  This is an excellence that cannot be found in any other village.  Both the temples are situated behind the Mariamman temple on the south bank of the big pond.  Both the temples face east.

 It was built about 150 years ago by the Sankaraiyar family who lived in the nearby village of Vikrapandyam.  As long as there were family heirs of the Sankaraiyar family, the temple had been making arrangements for the puja and festival. In 1970, Sri Viswanathaswamy  Kumbabhishekam was performed for the temple.  After that the temple was taken over by the Hindu Charities Department.

  Then the Kailasanathar temple was redone about 100 years ago by the people of this village.  There were shrines of Ganesha, Murugan and Kailasanathar here.  Now the trees were sprouting without any kind of maintenance and it was in a very bad condition.

 It was completely dilapidated and crumbling.  Due to this, the villagers gathered together, built a tin shed and worshiped all the deities in it.

 Currently, the construction work of Kailasanathar Temple has been completed and it is full.  In which Mr.  Gopala Krishnan's role is immense.

 East facing temple.  The front arch is grand to look at and the Lord is facing east and Ambika is facing south.  Nandi Mandapam is located in a separate hall in front of the Lord.  The beautiful majestic Nandi is beautiful to behold.  Although the temple is newly constructed, it is built like an ancient structure.

 In the koshtam, Tenmukhan is in the line.  In the north is Durga.  Prakara temples have Ganesha and Murugan.  Ganesha Vimana is arranged in the form of Gajaprishta.  Murugan is with Valli Deivanai.  Temple is also beautifully designed.

 Vishwanath, seated in the nearby temple, is still in the same position.  It is not known who Kailasanathar will send to retrieve his friend soon.

Puliyancheri sivan temple 

கும்பகோணம் – திருவாரூர் நெடுஞ்சாலையில் நாச்சியார்கோயில் அடுத்து உள்ள மாத்தூர்-அச்சுதமங்கலம் சாலையில் 9கிமீ ல் உள்ள பிலவாடி வந்து பருத்தியூர் சாலையில் 1 கிமி சென்று இடதுபுறம் திரும்பினால்  புளியஞ்சேரி உள்ளது. அச்சுதமங்கலத்தில் இருந்தும் 10கிமீ தான். பல புளியஞ்சேரிகள் உள்ளதால் இவ்வூர் 27.புளியஞ்சேரி எனப்படுகிறது.

விஜயநகர மன்னன் கிருஷ்ணதேவராயர் காலத்தில் இவ்வூர் புலையஞ்சேரி  என்ற பெயரில் இருந்துள்ளது. இந்த புலையஞ்சேரியையும் மதுராந்தக நல்லூர் என்ற மற்றொரு ஊரையும் சேர்த்து ஸ்ரீ நரசிம்மேந்திரபுரம் என்று பெயர் சூட்டி பாஸ்கர பட்டர்  என்பவரின் புதல்வர் ஹஸ்தகிரிக்கு கொடையாக வழங்கியிருக்கிறார். இவ்வூர் குலோத்துங்கசோழ வளநாட்டில் ஆளூர் சாவடிக்கு உட்பட்ட கிராமமாக விளங்கியது. 

புளியஞ்சேரி  என்பது முடிகொண்டான் ஆற்றி்ன்கரையோர கிராமம். மிக சிறிய கிராமம்,100வீடுகள் தான் இருக்கும். பெரிய குளம் ஒன்று அதனை சுற்றிய நான்கு தெருக்களும் உள்ளன. 

இந்த சின்ன கிராமத்தில்  கைலாசநாதர் திருக்கோவிலும், விஸ்வநாதர் திருக்கோவிலும் அருகருகே  அமைந்துள்ளது. இது வேறு எந்த கிராமத்திலும் காண முடியாத சிறப்பாகும். பெரிய குளத்தின் தென் கரையில் மாரியம்மன் கோயில் பின்புறம் இரு கோயில்களும் அமைந்துள்ளன. இரு கோயில்களும் கிழக்கு நோக்கியவை.

வலது புறம் உள்ளது விஸ்வநாதர்  திருக்கோவில்,இடதுபுறம் உள்ளது கைலாசநாதர் கோயில் 

1.இறைவன் கைலாசநாதர் - காமாட்சி 

2.இறைவன் விஸ்வநாதர் - விசாலாட்சி 

சுமார் 150ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு அருகில் உள்ள விக்கிரபாண்டியம் என்ற கிராமத்தில் வசித்து வந்த சங்கரய்யர் குடுமபத்தினரால் கட்டிவைக்கப்பட்டது. சங்கரய்யர் குடும்ப வாரிசுகள் இருந்தவரை கோவில் நித்தியபடி பூஜை மற்றும் திருவிழா நடைபெற ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்து வந்தனர். 1970 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஸ்ரீ விஸ்வநாதஸ்வாமி திருக்கோவிலுக்கு கும்பாபிஷேகமும் செய்து வைத்துள்ளார்கள். அதன் பிறகு கோவிலை இந்து அறநிலையத்துறைஎடுத்துக்கொண்டது. 

 பின்பு கைலாசநாதர் திருக்கோவில் சுமார் 100ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இந்த கிராமத்தினரால் திருப்பணி செயப்பட்டது. இங்கு  விநாயகர், முருகன், கைலாசநாதர் சன்னதிகள் இருந்தன. தற்போது எந்த விதமான பராமரிப்பும் இல்லாமல்  மரங்கள் முளைத்து மிகவும் மோசமான நிலையில் இருந்தது. 

முற்றிலும் பழுதடைந்து , இடிந்து விழும் நிலையில் இருந்தது. இதன் காரணமாக , கிராம மக்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி, தகர கொட்டகை  அமைத்து அதில் அனைத்து தெய்வங்களையும் வைத்து  பூஜை செய்து வந்தனர். 

தற்போது கைலாசநாதர் திருக்கோவிலை புதிதாக கட்டி பணிகள் நிறைவடைந்து குடமுழுக்கும் நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. இதில் திரு. Gopala Krishnan அவர்களின் பங்கு மகத்தானது. 

கிழக்கு நோக்கிய திருக்கோயில். முகப்பு வளைவு பார்க்க பிரம்மாண்டமாக இறைவன் கிழக்கு நோக்கியும் அம்பிகை தெற்கு நோக்கியும்  உள்ளனர். இறைவன் எதிரில் தனி மண்டபத்தில் நந்தி மண்டபம் உள்ளது. அழகான கம்பீரமான நந்தி பார்வைக்கு அழகாக உள்ளது. திருக்கோயில் புதிதாக எழுப்பப்பட்டாலும் பழமையான கட்டுமானம் போலவே அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

கோட்டத்தில் தென்முகன் உள்ளார். வடக்கில் துர்க்கை உள்ளார். பிரகார சிற்றாலயங்களில் விநாயகர் மற்றும் முருகன் உள்ளனர். விநாயகர் விமானம் கஜபிருஷ்ட வடிவில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. முருகன் வள்ளி தெய்வானை சமேதராக உள்ளார். சண்டேசர் சிற்றாலயமும் அழகுற வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. 

அருகாமை திருக்கோயிலில் வீற்றிருக்கும் விஸ்வநாதர் இன்னும் அதே நிலையில் தான் உள்ளார். கைலாசநாதர் தன் தோழரை விரைவில் மீட்டுவர யாரை அனுப்புவாரோ தெரியவில்லை.
