The Sri Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati temple located in Madanandapuram in Porur is a temple where the three powers, Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, who are worshipped as the three great goddesses, sit in separate sanctuaries and offer their blessings.

This temple houses the goddesses Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, who symbolize courage, wealth, and wisdom. They are located in separate sanctuaries.

Temple Structure:

The sanctum sanctorum of this temple, spread over an area of ​​26,000 square feet, is elegantly and artistically designed to remind us of the Chola period. On the left side of the temple facade, the presiding deity, Lord Ganesha, is enshrined as Shakti Ganapati. Special decorations are made for this deity every month on Sangadahara Chaturthi.

When Lord Ganesha returns after visiting Lord Ganesha, the main deities of this temple, Pattiswaram Durga, the deity of bravery, Mumbai Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, and Koothanur Saraswati, the deity of education, are sitting behind him in a very beautiful manner and are giving their blessings.

Behind this shrine, the Tamil god Muruga, as the Senthil Lord, resides in a huge separate shrine and blesses him. On the day of Sashti, which falls in the month of Vallabhbhai, special decorations are made for him along with six types of fruits, flowers and prasad. Every year, a Soorasamhara ceremony is held here on the day of Kanda Sashti.

As you go around the prakaram, you will see the idols of Nardhana Vinayakar, Dakshinamoorthy, Valli Deivanai along with Muruga, Palani Lord and Balamurugan. The Navagraha shrine is located directly opposite the Murugan shrine.

Special pujas and archanas are performed here on the days of Shani Peyarchi and Guru Peyarchi. Radha Kalyanam is held in this temple every year in the months of May and June for two days. Devotees believe that if those waiting for marriage participate in the wedding ceremony and offer heartfelt prayers, their marriage will take place soon.

Every year in the month of Margazhi, abhishekam is performed to the Lord early in the morning and Thirupavai and Thiruvembhavai are sung. Similarly, Sahasranama Archanas are performed in the temple as daily pujas on Tuesdays during Rahu Kalam to Durga, on Wednesdays to Saraswati, and on Fridays to Lakshmi.

Navratri Festival:

During the first three days of Navratri, special pujas are performed for Durga (Devi Maheshwari, Gaumari, Varahi)

For the next three days, Lakshmi (Mahalakshmi, Vaishnavi, Indrani)

For the last three days, special abhishekam and special decorations are performed for Saraswati (Saraswati Narasimha, Chamundi).

During Navratri, this temple is celebrated as a very grand festival by setting up huge kolupadhi and placing various kolu dolls. On the last day, Vijayadasami, the Navasandi Homam is specially performed.

Another special feature of this temple is Atsarapyasam. This is done for the educational welfare of children. This puja is performed here at the request of parents so that their children excel in education.

26000 சதுர அடியில் அமைந்துள்ள இக்கோவிலின் கருவறை கோபுரங்கள், சோழர் காலத்தை நினைவூட்டும் வகையில் நேர்த்தியாகவும் கலைநயத்துடனும் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கோவில் முகப்பின் இடது புறத்தில் முழுமுதற் கடவுளான விநாயகப் பெருமான் சக்தி கணபதி ஆக வீற்றிருக்கிறார். இப்பெருமானுக்கு மாதந்தோறும் சங்கடஹர சதுர்த்தி அன்று சிறப்பு அலங்காரம் நடைபெறுகிறது.

விநாயகர் பெருமானை தரிசித்துவிட்டு திரும்பும் போது அவருக்கு பின்புறம் இத்திருக்கோவிலின் முக்கிய கடவுள்களான வீரத்திற்கு அதிபதியான பட்டீஸ்வரம் துர்க்கையும், செல்வத்திற்கு 

அதிபதியான மும்பை லட்சுமியும், கல்விக்கு அதிபதியான கூத்தனூர் சரஸ்வதியும் மிக அழகாய் வீற்றிருந்து அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர்.

இம்மூன்று சக்திகளையும் ஒரே இடத்தில், ஒரே நேரத்தில் தரிசிப்பதால் நம் பிரார்த்தனைகள் விரைவில் பலிக்கின்றன. 

இச்சன்னதிக்கு பின்புறம் தமிழ் கடவுளான முருகப்பெருமான் பிரம்மாண்டமான தனிச்சன்னதியில் செந்தில் ஆண்டவராக வீற்றிருந்து அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். இவருக்கு வளர்பிறையில் வரும் சஷ்டி அன்று ஆறுவிதமான பழங்கள், பூக்கள் மற்றும் பிரசாதத்துடன் சிறப்பு அலங்காரமும் செய்யப்படுகிறது. வருடந்தோறும் கந்த சஷ்டி அன்று இங்கு சூரசம்ஹார நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெறும்.

பிரகாரத்தைச் சுற்றி வரும்போது கோஷ்ட மூர்த்தியாக நர்த்தன விநாயகர், தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி, வள்ளி தெய்வானையுடன் முருகர், பழனி ஆண்டவர் மற்றும் பாலமுருகன் ஆகியோர் காட்சியளிக்கின்றனர். முருகன் சன்னதிக்கு நேர் எதிர்ப்புறம் நவக்கிரக சன்னதி அமைந்துள்ளது.

இங்கு சனிப்பெயர்ச்சி, குருப்பெயர்ச்சி நாட்களில் சிறப்பு பூஜைகளும், அர்ச்சனைகளும் நடைபெறுகின்றன. இக்கோவிலில் ஆண்டுதோறும் மே, ஜூன் மாதங்களில் ராதா கல்யாணம் இரண்டு நாட்கள் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. திருமணத்திற்கு காத்திருப்போர் கல்யாண வைபவத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு மனமுருக பிரார்த்தித்தால் விரைவில் திருமணம் நடைபெறும் என்பது பக்தர்களின் நம்பிக்கை .

வருடந்தோறும் மார்கழி மாதத்தில் அதிகாலையில் ஆண்டவருக்கு அபிஷேகங்கள் நடத்தப்பட்டு திருப்பாவை, திருவெம்பாவை பாடப்படுகிறது. அதுபோல் கோவிலில் தினப்படி பூஜையாக செவ்வாய் அன்று ராகு காலத்தில் துர்கைக்கும், புதன் அன்று சரஸ்வதிக்கும், வெள்ளியன்று லட்சுமிக்கும் சகஸ்ரநாம அர்ச்சனைகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.
