கரீம்நகர் நகரிலிருந்து வடகிழக்கே 8 கி.மீ தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள நாகுனூர் கிராமம், தெலுங்கானாவின் கரீம்நகரின் வரலாற்றில் மிகவும் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்தது. நாகுனூர் கோட்டை புகழ்பெற்ற காகதீய வம்சத்தின் மிக முக்கியமான கோட்டைகளில் ஒன்றாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. அகழ்வாராய்ச்சிகள் சிவன் மற்றும் காகதீய கோயில்களின் பல இடிபாடுகளை வெளிச்சத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளன.

புராண முக்கியத்துவம்

நாகுனூர் கோட்டையில் 12 முதல் 13 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு வரையிலான முக்கியமான கோயில்கள் உள்ளன, அவற்றில் வைணவ கோயில், சிவன் கோயில், பிரதான திரிகூட கோயில் மற்றும் ராமலிங்கல குடி கோயில் ஆகியவை அடங்கும். இங்குள்ள சிவன் கோயிலைச் சுற்றியுள்ள தூண்கள் மற்றும் காட்சியகங்கள் பார்க்கத் தகுந்தவை. ஆனால் இந்த சிவன் கோயில் முற்றிலும் இடிந்து கிடக்கிறது. இந்த வளாகத்தில் உள்ள மிக முக்கியமான கோயில் மூன்று சன்னதிகளைக் கொண்ட சிவன் கோயில் ஆகும். கோயிலின் பிரதான நுழைவாயில் வடக்குப் பக்கத்திலும், மூன்று சன்னதிகள் மற்ற மூன்று திசைகளையும் எதிர்கொள்கின்றன. பாழடைந்த கோயில்களின் ஒரு குழு இவற்றில் மிகப்பெரியது மற்றும் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது சிவபெருமானின் மூன்று சன்னதிகள் கொண்ட கோயில். கோயிலின் பிரதான நுழைவாயில் வடக்கு நோக்கி உள்ளது. மூன்று சன்னதிகளும் மற்ற மூன்று திசைகளை எதிர்கொள்கின்றன. இந்த கோயில் நாகுனூர் கோட்டையின் எல்லைக்குள் அமைந்துள்ளது. கோட்டை ஒரு காலத்தில் காகத்தியர்களின் அதிகார மையமாக இருந்தது. அதன் உட்புறங்கள் ஒரு காலத்தில் ஒரு துடிப்பான மற்றும் பரபரப்பான நகரத்தின் ஒலிகளை எதிரொலிக்கும் வகையில் இன்று இடிபாடுகள் மற்றும் இடிபாடுகளின் அமைதியான வேதனையைப் பாடுகின்றன. இந்த கோயில் சிவப்பு கல்லால் ஆனது மற்றும் சிவபெருமானின் மூன்று சன்னதிகளைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. இந்த சன்னதிகள் ஒரு உயர்ந்த பீடம் அல்லது உபபீடத்தின் மீது வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. கோயில் அலங்காரத்தின் மிகவும் மயக்கும் பகுதி, கதவுகளின் சட்டகங்களை அலங்கரிக்கும் சிக்கலான மற்றும் விரிவான சிற்பங்கள் மற்றும் மையத் தூணில் தங்கியிருக்கும் விட்டங்கள் ஆகும்.
