Introduction

The Sri Madduramma Temple, located in Huskur, Anekal Taluk, Bangalore, Karnataka, is an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Madduramma, believed to have been built during the Chola period, over 1000 years ago. This historic temple is a revered spiritual center in the region, drawing devotees from near and far.

Puranic Significance

Goddess Madduramma is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess, worshipped widely in South India, especially in Karnataka. She is venerated as a village deity and serves as the personal guardian deity for many families. The temple is particularly known for its annual Grand Festival, celebrated in March or April.

A key highlight of the festival is the chariot procession, showcasing an extraordinary multi-storied chariot, approximately 120 feet tall with 20 decks. This magnificent chariot, resembling a towering building, amazes devotees with its grandeur. Other enormous chariots from nearby temples also join this procession, creating a vibrant and devotional atmosphere across the city.

இந்தியாவின் கர்நாடகா, பெங்களூர் நகரில் ஹுஸ்கூரில் (ஆனேகல் தாலுக்கா) அமைந்துள்ள ஸ்ரீ மதுரம்மா கோயில், மதுரம்மாவுக்காக அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்ட கோயிலாகும், மேலும் இந்த கோயில் சோழர் காலத்தில் கட்டப்பட்டது. இக்கோயில் 1000 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையானது என நம்பப்படுகிறது.

புராண முக்கியத்துவம்

ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் அல்லது ஏப்ரல் மாதங்களில் பெருவிழா கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த சிறிய கோவில் இப்பகுதியில் மிகவும் பிரபலமானது. தென்னிந்தியாவில், குறிப்பாக கர்நாடகாவில் வழிபடப்படும் அன்னை தேவியின் வெளிப்பாடே மதுரம்மா தேவி. அவள் எல்லா வகையான ஆபத்துகளிலிருந்தும் மக்களைப் பாதுகாத்து அமைதியையும் செழிப்பையும் தருகிறாள். அவள் கிராம தெய்வம் மற்றும் கர்நாடகாவில் பல குடும்பங்களின் தனிப்பட்ட கடவுள். இக்கோயில் திருவிழாவின் போது, இழுக்கப்பட்ட தேர் மிகவும் வித்தியாசமான முறையில், பிரமாண்டமாக, அனைவரையும் வியக்கும் வகையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இக்கோயிலின் தேர் பல அடுக்குகள் கொண்ட உயரமான கட்டிட அமைப்பு போல் காட்சியளிக்கிறது. சுமார் 120 அடி உயரத்தில், சுமார் 20 தளங்களுடன் இந்த தேர் கண்கவர் காட்சியளிக்கிறது. இந்த கோவில் தேர் திருவிழாவின் போது வேறு சில பெரிய தேர்களும் ஊரை வலம் வரும்.
