I didn’t aware that there is a Shiva temple on Kumaran Kundram where Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy temple is situated on the top of the hill. After Visiting the Siva Vishnu temple at Adambakkam, head been to this temple.

The 5 tier Rajagopuram on the road side is common for both Shiva and Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy temples. Sri Arunagirinathar mandapam is immediately after the Rajagopuram, Marriages, discourses, Temple festival will be conducted here. Vahanas are also kept here. Sannadhi for Vinayagar, Navagrahas, Jayamangalathamma Kali sannadhis are on the left Shiva Temple is in the left side of 50th steps.
The temple is facing North with an entrance Arch. Sudhai sirpam of Meenakshi Thirukalyanam. Vishnu, Meenakshi, Shiva, Brahma, Nandhi, Lakshmi and Saraswathy. The main sanctum is on an elevated level. On Moolavar Shiva linga image of Shiva is engraved.In Koshtam Vinayagar, Rishapanthikar, Dhakshinamurthy, Maha Vishnu and durgai. The Shiva Sannadhi is with Gajabirushta Vimana.
In prakaram sannadhi for Amman Meenakshi, Urchavars, Natarajar, Sarabeswarar, Soman ( Chandran ), Siva Suryan, Naalvar and Bairavar. Natarajar is called as Thanpatha Thookkiya Natarajar, in dance posture with right foot up. Sri Meenakshi Amman is in a separate sannadhi facing east.
History: The available inscription details are given below. Both Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy temple and this Shiva temple cannot be separated, since most of thirupani are common to both. This temple belongs to 20th Century and even before that a Spear was kept and worshiped ( from when is not known). On 10th December 1958, Kanchi mutt Sri Chandrasekarenthara Saraswathy Swamikal told that a Subramaniyar Temple will come on this hill during his visit to Chrompet. On 9th December 1975, when Sri Sankaracharya Swamikal was camped at Nanganallur, he mentioned that he was very happy of worshiping a spear installed on the top of the hill. Further he blessed the intention a building a Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy Temple on the top of the hill and appealed all the devotees to donate liberally. On 3rd Feb 1983, Kanchi Mutt Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamikal laid the stone for conducting Samrokshanam after thirupani for Navagrahas, Shiva and Ambal sannadhis. On 5th December 1986, the steps were constructed and opened by Sri Sringeri Saradhapedam Sri Sankaracharya Bharathi Thirtha Swamikal. On 15th Aug 2003, front concrete flooring and steps Kavi painting was done through a donor Saroja and Balan Family. On 09th Feb 2014, Jinorthana Ashtabandhana Kumbabhishekam was conducted for Sri Balasubramaniya Swamy, Parivara sannadhis and Rajagopuram in presence of Pujyasri Sri Brahmayoganantha and Pujyasri Sri Niranjanantha Giri Swamikal. On the same date Dwajasthambam was also installed. In that function HR&CE Minister and Officials are also participated

The temple will be kept opened between 06.30 hrs to 10.30 hrs and 16.30 hrs to 20.30 hrs.
HOW TO REACH:
The Kumaran Kundram temple is at Hasthinapuram a part of Chrompet.
Town buses S8, S4, M18G, 500 A ends at Hasthinapuram stops near the temple.
Chrompet Sub Urban railway station is about 1.6 KM from the Temple.

குமரன் குன்றத்தில் மலை உச்சியில் உள்ள ஸ்ரீ பாலசுப்ரமணிய ஸ்வாமி கோயில் இருக்கும் இடத்தில் சிவன் கோயில் இருப்பது எனக்குத் தெரியாது. ஆதம்பாக்கத்தில் உள்ள சிவா விஷ்ணு கோயிலுக்குச் சென்ற பிறகு, இந்தக் கோயிலுக்குச் செல்லுங்கள்.

இந்த கோவிலின் சில முக்கிய அம்சங்கள்...
சாலையோரத்தில் உள்ள 5 அடுக்கு ராஜகோபுரம் சிவன் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ பாலசுப்ரமணிய சுவாமி கோவில்களுக்கு பொதுவானது. ஸ்ரீஅருணகிரிநாதர் மண்டபம் அமைந்த உடனேயே இங்கு ராஜகோபுரம், திருமஞ்சனம், சொற்பொழிவுகள், கோயில் திருவிழாக்கள் நடைபெறும். வாகனங்களும் இங்கு வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. விநாயகர் சன்னதி, நவகிரகங்கள், ஜெயமங்கலத்தம்மா காளி சன்னதிகள் இடதுபுறம் சிவன் கோயில் உள்ளது 50 வது படிகளில் இடதுபுறம் உள்ளது .
கோவில் வடக்கு நோக்கி நுழைவாயில் வளைவுடன் உள்ளது. மீனாட்சி திருக்கல்யாணத்தின் சுதை சிற்பம். விஷ்ணு, மீனாட்சி, சிவன், பிரம்மா, நந்தி, லட்சுமி மற்றும் சரஸ்வதி. பிரதான சன்னதி உயரமான நிலையில் உள்ளது. மூலவர் மீது சிவன் லிங்க உருவம் பொறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.கோஷ்டத்தில் விநாயகர், ரிஷபந்திகர், தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி, மகா விஷ்ணு மற்றும் துர்க்கை. சிவன் சன்னதி கஜபிருஷ்ட விமானத்துடன் உள்ளது.
பிரகாரத்தில் அம்மன் மீனாட்சி, ஊர்ச்சவர்கள், நடராஜர், சரபேஸ்வரர், சோமன் (சந்திரன்), சிவசூரியன், நால்வர் மற்றும் பைரவர் சன்னதியில் உள்ளனர். நடராஜர் , வலது கால் மேல்நோக்கி நடனமாடிய நிலையில், தன்பத தூக்கிய நடராஜர் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறார் . ஸ்ரீ மீனாட்சி அம்மன் கிழக்கு நோக்கிய தனி சந்நதியில் இருக்கிறார்.
வரலாறு: கிடைக்கக்கூடிய கல்வெட்டு விவரங்கள் கீழே கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஸ்ரீ பாலசுப்ரமணிய ஸ்வாமி கோயிலையும் இந்த சிவன் கோயிலையும் பிரிக்க முடியாது, ஏனென்றால் பெரும்பாலான திருப்பணிகள் இரண்டுக்கும் பொதுவானவை. இந்த கோவில் 20 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்தது , அதற்கு முன்பே ஒரு ஈட்டி வைத்து வழிபட்டது (எப்போது இருந்து தெரியவில்லை). 1958 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 10 ஆம் தேதி காஞ்சி மடம் ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்தர சரஸ்வதி சுவாமிகள் குரோம்பேட்டைக்கு வருகை தரும் போது இந்த மலையில் சுப்பிரமணியர் கோயில் வரும் என்று கூறினார். 1975 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 9 ஆம் தேதி , ஸ்ரீ சங்கராச்சாரியார் சுவாமிகள் நங்கநல்லூரில் முகாமிட்டிருந்தபோது, மலை உச்சியில் நிறுவப்பட்ட ஈட்டியை வணங்கியதில் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்ததாகக் குறிப்பிட்டார். மேலும் மலையின் உச்சியில் ஸ்ரீ பாலசுப்ரமணிய ஸ்வாமி கோயிலைக் கட்டும் நோக்கத்தை ஆசீர்வதித்த அவர், பக்தர்கள் அனைவரும் தாராளமாக நன்கொடை அளிக்குமாறு வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்தார். நவகிரகங்கள், சிவன் மற்றும் அம்பாள் சன்னதிகளுக்குத் திருப்பணிக்குப் பிறகு சம்ரோக்ஷணம் நடத்துவதற்கு 1983ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 3 ஆம் தேதி காஞ்சி மடம் ஸ்ரீ ஜெயேந்திர சரஸ்வதி சுவாமிகள் கல் நாட்டினார். 1986 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 5 ஆம் தேதி , ஸ்ரீ சிருங்கேரி சாரதாபீடம் ஸ்ரீ சங்கராச்சாரியார் பாரதி தீர்த்த சுவாமிகளால் படிகள் கட்டப்பட்டு திறக்கப்பட்டது. 15 ஆகஸ்ட் 2003 அன்று , சரோஜா மற்றும் பாலன் குடும்பத்தினர் நன்கொடையாளர் மூலம் முன் கான்கிரீட் தளம் மற்றும் படிகள் காவி ஓவியம் வரையப்பட்டது. 09 பிப்ரவரி 2014 அன்று பூஜ்யஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ பிரம்மயோகானந்தா மற்றும் பூஜ்யஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ நிரஞ்சனந்த கிரி சுவாமிகள் முன்னிலையில் ஸ்ரீ பாலசுப்ரமணிய ஸ்வாமி, பரிவார சன்னதிகள் மற்றும் ராஜகோபுரங்களுக்கு ஜினோர்த்தனா அஷ்டபந்தன கும்பாபிஷேகம் நடத்தப்பட்டது . அதே தேதியில் த்வஜஸ்தம்பமும் நிறுவப்பட்டது. இந்த விழாவில் மனிதவள மற்றும் சிஇ அமைச்சர் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்
கோவில் நேரங்கள்:
கோயில் 06.30 மணி முதல் 10.30 மணி வரையிலும், 16.30 மணி முதல் 20.30 மணி வரையிலும் திறந்து வைக்கப்படும்.
எப்படி அடைவது:
குரோம்பேட்டையின் ஒரு பகுதியான ஹஸ்தினாபுரத்தில் குமரன் குன்றம் கோவில் உள்ளது.
S8, S4, M18G, 500 A ஆகிய டவுன் பஸ்கள் ஹஸ்தினாபுரத்தில் முடிவடைகிறது, கோயிலுக்கு அருகில் நிறுத்தப்படும்.
குரோம்பேட்டை சப் அர்பன் ரயில் நிலையம் கோயிலில் இருந்து சுமார் 1.6 கிமீ தொலைவில் உள்ளது.
