Sivakami Ambal Udanurai Azhiyapadeeswarar Temple is located near Tirunelveli Crossroads at Karuppanthurai.

 When Sati Devi daughter of  Dakshan 

died, Lord Shiva sent Veerabhatra to destroy the Yaga, and he lost his rightful place. 

 Shiva 

arose as Agneeswarar in the region of Melnadham.  The towns in front of it burned in his anger.  People were worried.  There was a fear that the Tirunelveli area would burn.  The earth is dry.  No rain at all.

              

 People went and complained to King Veerapandyan who was ruling at that time.  Then the king appealed to Korakar who was traveling there. 

 Knowing what had happened to Gnana Drishti, he realized that he was Shiva's counterpart and worshiped him by establishing Azhiyapadeeswarar in Karupanturai on the opposite side of him as a face to appease Agneeswarar. 

 The deity asked him to perform puja onba pournami day after whuch rains came and makes it prosperous.  The people of that area are saved from destruction.

              

 Villages like Karuppanthura, Karikathoppu and Karungadu still have the same names in front of Agneeswarar on the west side. 

 The Deepam of Ishwaran and the Deepam of Ambal in the Azhiyapadeeswarar Temple is a three-tiered Deepam.  The lamp above Shiva swings but the other two remain stationary.  It remains unsolved.

 Ambalo turns slightly to the left side and is in a position to listen to the grievances of the devotees.  Her second tier is swinging in Deepam position.   The priest said that Eason and Umai are talking.  Mother tells the grievances of the devotees.

 Goraka also gets up and prays. 

               

 Those who go to Tirunelveli can get the grace of Azhiyapadeeswarar if they get a chance.

திருநெல்வேலி குறுக்குத்துறைக்கு அருகில் கருப்பந்துறை என்னும் இடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது சிவகாமி அம்பாள் உடனுறை அழியாபதீஸ்வரர் கோவில்.

தட்சனின் யாகத்தின் சதிதேவி இறந்துவிட, சிவன் கோபம் மிகுந்திட வீரபத்திரரை அனுப்பி யாகத்தை அழித்தும் அவன் தன் சரிபாதியை இழந்த தாக்கத்தால் விளைந்த கோபாக்னி   அணையவில்லை. 

சிவபரம்பொருள் 

அக்னீஸ்வரராக மேல்நத்தம் பகுதியில் எழுந்தருளினான். அதற்கு எதிரில் இருந்த ஊர்கள் கோபத்தீயில் எரிந்தது. மக்கள் அல்லலுற்றனர். திருநெல்வேலி பகுதியே எரிந்துவிடும் என்ற அச்சம் எழுந்தது. பூமி வறண்டது. சிறிதும் மழையில்லை.

              

அப்போது ஆட்சி செய்த மன்னர் வீரப்பாண்டியன் என்பவரிடம் மக்கள் சென்று முறையிட்டனர். அப்போது  மன்னர் அங்கு பயணித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த கோரக்கரிடம் முறையிட்டார். 

அவர் ஞான திருஷ்ட்டியால் நடந்ததையறிந்து  சிவனுக்கு நிகர் சிவனே என உணர்ந்து அக்னீஸ்வரரை சாந்தபடுத்தும் முகமாக அவருக்கு எதிர் புறம் கருப்பந்துறையில் அழியாபதீஸ்வரரை ஸ்தாபனம் செய்து வழிப்படுகிறார். 

பெளர்ணமியன்று பூஜை செய்ய பணித்த ஈசன் மழை பெய்வித்து சுபிட்சமாக்குகிறான். அந்தப் பகுதி மக்கள் அழிவிலிருந்த காப்பாற்றப் படுகிறார்கள்.

              

மேற்கு புறம் எழுந்தருளியுள்ள அக்னீஸ்வரருக்கு எதிரில்   கருப்பந்துறை, கரிக்காத்தோப்பு ,கருங்காடு போன்ற ஊர்கள் இன்றளவிலும் அதே பெயர்களில் இருக்கின்றன. 

அழியாபதீஸ்வரர் கோவிலில் இருக்கும்  ஈஸ்வரரின் தீபம்  மற்றும் அமபாளின் தீபமும் மூன்று அடுக்கு  தீபமாக உள்ளது. சிவனின் மேல் தீபம் ஆடும் ஆனால் மற்ற இரண்டும் நிலையாக இருக்கும். காரணம் புரியாது .

அம்பாளோ  இடது புறம் சிறிது திரும்பி பக்தர்களின் குறைகளை கேட்ப்பதுப்   போன்ற நிலையில் இருப்பாள். அவளின் இரண்டாவது அடுக்கு தீபம் நிலையில்தான் ஆடும்.  ஈசனும் உமையும் பேசிக் கொள்வது  என்றார் அர்ச்சகர். பக்தர்களின் குறைகளை அன்னைக் கூறுகிறாள்.

கோரக்கரும் எழுந்தருளி அருள் பாலிக்கிறார். நான் சென்ற போது சாயரட்சை பூஜை நடந்தது. பின்பு அமைதியாக சிறிது நேரம் தியானம் செய்து  திரும்பினேன். 

               

திருநெல்வேலி செல்பவர்கள் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தால் அழியாபதீஸ்வரரின் அருள் பெறலாம்.
