Goddess Bhimchandi Devi – About Goddess Bhim Chandi

Bhimchandi Devi is a powerful manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti. Her murti is worshipped in many temples in North India. An important Bhim Chandi Devi temple is located in Varanasi and is one of the halting places during the famous Panchakosi Parikrama. Another temple is located at Pinjore in Haryana.

Legend has it that Mother Goddess Shakti appeared in an unimaginably huge form in the Himalayas to protect Sages and people who followed Dharma. She gets her name from the huge figure in which she appeared – Bhima. This is mentioned in the Devi Mahatmya.

Bhimchandi Devi is often referred as the ‘Ugra’ or fierce manifestation. Her fury is uncontrollable and unimaginable. Next moment she can be benign, kind and caring mother. Due to her volatile temper, she is feared by the devotees.

It is believed that Goddess Bhimchandi creates trouble in the life of those who practice Adharma. She protects her devotees from all troubles. But if her devotees stray from the path of Dharma, she creates mountains of trouble for them.

Vermilion is the most important offering to the Goddess. Other offerings include red flowers, sweets and water.

Apart from Navratri, the most important day dedicated to Goddess Bhimchandi Mata is the second day during the waning phase of moon in Bhadrapad month (Bhadrapad Krishna Paksha Dwitiya) as per traditional Hindu calendar in North India.

பீம்சண்டி தேவி தாய் தேவி சக்தியின் சக்திவாய்ந்த வெளிப்பாடு. இவரது மூர்த்தி பல கோவில்களில் வழிபடப்படுகிறதுவட இந்தியா. ஒரு முக்கியமான பீம் சண்டி தேவி கோவில் அமைந்துள்ளதுவாரணாசிமற்றும் புகழ்பெற்ற பஞ்சகோசி பரிக்கிரமாவின் போது நிறுத்தப்படும் இடங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். மற்றொரு கோயில் ஹரியானாவில் பிஞ்சோரில் அமைந்துள்ளது.

தாய் தேவி சக்தி கற்பனைக்கு எட்டாத பெரிய வடிவில் தோன்றியதாக புராணங்கள் கூறுகின்றனஇமயமலைமுனிவர்களையும், தர்மத்தைப் பின்பற்றிய மக்களையும் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும். அவள் தோன்றிய பெரிய உருவத்தில் இருந்து அவள் பெயரைப் பெற்றாள் - பீமா. இது தேவி மகாத்மியத்தில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

பீம்சண்டி தேவி பெரும்பாலும் 'உக்ரா' அல்லது கடுமையான வெளிப்பாடு என்று குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறார். அவளுடைய கோபம் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாதது மற்றும் கற்பனை செய்ய முடியாதது. அடுத்த கணம் அவள் நல்ல, கனிவான மற்றும் அக்கறையுள்ள தாயாக இருக்க முடியும். அவளது கொந்தளிப்பான மனநிலையால், அவள் பக்தர்களால் பயப்படுகிறாள்.

அதர்மத்தை கடைப்பிடிப்பவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் பீம்சண்டி தேவி பிரச்சனைகளை உருவாக்குவதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது. தன் பக்தர்களை எல்லா துன்பங்களிலிருந்தும் காக்கிறாள். ஆனால் அவளுடைய பக்தர்கள் தர்மத்தின் வழியை விட்டு விலகிச் சென்றால், அவள் அவர்களுக்கு சிரமங்களை உருவாக்குகிறாள்.

அம்மனுக்கு மிக முக்கியமான பிரசாதம் வெண்பா. மற்ற பிரசாதங்களில் சிவப்பு மலர்கள், இனிப்புகள் மற்றும் தண்ணீர் ஆகியவை அடங்கும்.

நவராத்திரி தவிர, பாரம்பரிய இந்து நாட்காட்டியின்படி, பத்ரபத் மாதத்தில் (பத்ரபத் கிருஷ்ண பக்ஷ த்விதியா) சந்திரன் குறைந்து வரும் இரண்டாவது நாள், பீம்சண்டி மாதா தேவிக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்ட மிக முக்கியமான நாள்.
