Gauri Shankar Temple

🙏Location: Naggar, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.

🙏Deity: God Shiva & Goddess Parvati.

🙏Idol: The idols of Shankar & Gauri are placed on a pedestal & are seated over Nandi. Both the parent are holding their son Kartik & Ganesh. The garbagriha is decorated with beautiful carvings of deities.

🙏Built by: Built-in 12th CCE during the period of Pal kings. It was renovated by Seth Jaipura in 1959 AD.

🙏Architect: It has Shikhara having nine levels & decorated with ardharatna motifs & ornamentations.

It is based on Gurjara- Pratihara traditions which flourished in Kullu-Manali valley. It is Tri-Anga in the plan, possessing Bhadra. Pratiratha and Karna projection.

🙏Legend: Once at the request of Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva called Devi Parvati 'kali' means black. It made the devi enraged & she decided to do penance to become fair 'Gauri'. After a hard & difficult penance, Devi Parvati shed off all the dark cells (kosha) from her body & became Gouri. From the cells emerged a dark-hued goddess named Koushiki. Parvati handed over Koushiki to Brahma. Endowed with weapons by Brahma, Koushiki killed Shumbha & Nishumbha, saving the heavens of demigods. Parvati returned to her husband as Gouri…. This reunite form of Shivashakti is famous as a Gaurishankar.

🙏Beliefs: This temple is widely respected for the local belief that visiting this temple fulfills one’s wishes.

🙏Significance: a) This Shiva temple is a protected monument. b) The temple is surrounded by lush and abundant greenery overlooking the Beas River.

கௌரி சங்கர் கோவில்

கௌரி சங்கர் கோவில்நாகர் கோட்டையை அடைவதற்கு முன் பிரதான சாலைக்கு அருகில், ஒருவர் கௌரி சங்கர் கோயிலின் மீது வருகிறார். கௌரி சங்கர் கோயிலின் நேர்த்தியாக செதுக்கப்பட்ட கல் சிகரங்களைக் காண்பது இன்ப அதிர்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது. இது கோட்டைக்கு கீழே ஒரு நடைபாதை முற்றத்தில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது மற்றும் சுற்றியுள்ள பழமையான கோவில்களில் ஒன்றாகும். இது ஒரு சிவன் கோவில் மற்றும் உள்ளே ஒரு லிங்கம் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளது. உள்ளூர்வாசிகளின் கூற்றுப்படி, ஒரு அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் கோயில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. இது இப்போது ASI (இந்திய தொல்பொருள் ஆய்வு) ஆல் பராமரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

கோபுர சிகரம் வட இந்தியாவில் உள்ள கோயில் கட்டிடக்கலைக்கு ஒரு பொதுவான உதாரணம்; கோயிலுக்கு வெளியே நந்தி (புனிதக் காளை) சிலையும் உள்ளது. கோவிலின் மேல் கூரை இல்லை மற்றும் பல்வேறு கோவில் அமைப்புகளை வானத்தின் கீழ் நேரடியாக காணலாம். கோயில் முழுவதுமாக கல்லால் ஆனது மற்றும் சிறிய கோயில்கள் நாராயணனுக்கு (விஷ்ணுவின் அவதாரம்) அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

இந்தக் கோயில் அதன் கட்டிடக்கலைக்காகவும், இந்தக் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்றால் விருப்பங்கள் நிறைவேறும் என்ற உள்ளூர் நம்பிக்கைக்காகவும் பரவலாக மதிக்கப்படுகிறது. கோயில் ASI இன் கீழ் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட நினைவுச்சின்னம் என்பதை ஒரு அடையாள பலகை குறிப்பிடுகிறது.
