Shiva temple, Juttiga

The most ancient and magnificent Shiva Temple in Juttiga Village, Penumantra Mandalam beacons us to not only get our wishes fulfilled during our life time but also help us reach the most sought-after ‘Sivaloka’ after we leave this world. We live a hundred years at the most. But the Shivalingam in the Juttiga (Juthika) temple according to the stalapuranam is believed to be about 18.2 million years old. It is believed that the Shivalinga in the temple was of pre-Ramayana time.

The Vayu Purana extols the temple as Dakshina Kasi. The west-facing Shivalinga is considered to bestow the same benefits of visiting the Kashi Viswanath temple in Varanasi. According to the edicts, the temple underwent an extensive renovation on the orders of KULI KUTUB SHA in the 11th Century AD. This temple is accessible by road from Tanuku or Bhimvaram(30Km) in the west Godavari District. Visiting this temple makes us remember the saying that India is the Veda Bhoomi.

According to the legend, during the pre-Ramayana period, the power drunk Ravana not only caused misery to devatas but also to the people at large. He once insulted Vasuki, Ravi (the Sun god) and Soma (the moon god). Unable to witness the hardships caused by Ravana, they approached Brahma and sought relief from Ravana. Brahma told them to install Shivalinga on the banks of Gostani river and pray Lord Shiva so that Rama takes birth to take on the cruel Ravana and end their misery. As per the instructions of Brahma, Vasuki, Ravi and Soma installed the Shivalinga on the Gostani river banks at the present Juttiga Village and laid seeds for the Ramavatar. Lord Shiva here blesses the devotees and fulfills their desires not only during their life times but also after their death. Those who worship Lord Shiva at this temple get relief from enemies. They regain strength to repay the loans; their health improves like never before and frees them from the fear of death. Those who do ‘abisekham’ here to the Lord on Mondays and do the ‘annadanam’ get beneficial results. Those who worship the Lord on Sivaratri get freedom from the birth and death cycle and stay with the Lord in Kailasa for ever. Those suffering from illness, incurable diseases can perform Mrutunjaya Abisekham here and get relief. Shivaratri Festival is celebrated in the Juttiga Village as well as Natta Rameswaram with great devotion and religious fervour.

This temple complex has Parvati Devi temple, Bhadra Kali temple, Veerabhadra temple, Sri Lakshmi Janardharna Swamy temple and Durga Devi temple, Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple and Sri Kamakshi temple to make our visit perfectly worthwhile.

சிவன் கோயில், ஜூட்டிகா

 ஜுட்டிகா கிராமத்தில் உள்ள மிகப் பழமையான மற்றும் அற்புதமான சிவன் கோயில், பெனுமந்திர மண்டலம் நம் வாழ்நாளில் எங்கள் விருப்பங்களை நிறைவேற்றுவதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், இந்த உலகத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறிய பிறகு மிகவும் விரும்பப்பட்ட ‘சிவலோகா’வை அடையவும் உதவுகிறது.  நாங்கள் அதிகபட்சமாக நூறு ஆண்டுகள் வாழ்கிறோம்.  ஆனால் ஸ்தலபுரத்தின் படி ஜுட்டிகா (ஜூதிகா) கோவிலில் உள்ள சிவலிங்கம் சுமார் 18.2 மில்லியன் ஆண்டுகள் பழமையானது என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.  கோயிலில் உள்ள சிவலிங்கம் ராமாயணத்திற்கு முந்தையது என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.

 வாயு புராணம் கோயிலை தக்ஷிண காசி என்று புகழ்கிறது.  மேற்கு நோக்கிய சிவலிங்கா, வாரணாசியில் உள்ள காசி விஸ்வநாதர் கோயிலுக்கு வருவதன் அதே நன்மைகளை அளிப்பதாக கருதப்படுகிறது.  கி.பி 11 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் குலி குதுப் ஷாவின் உத்தரவின் பேரில் இந்த கோயில் விரிவான சீரமைப்புக்கு உட்பட்டது.  இந்த கோயிலை மேற்கு கோதாவரி மாவட்டத்தில் தனுகு அல்லது பீமாவரம் (30 கி.மீ) வழியாக சாலை வழியாக அணுகலாம்.  இந்த கோயிலுக்கு வருகை தருவது இந்தியா வேத பூமி என்ற பழமொழியை நினைவில் கொள்கிறது.

 புராணத்தின் படி, ராமாயணத்திற்கு முந்தைய காலகட்டத்தில், சக்தி குடிபோதையில் இருந்த ராவணன் தேவதர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, மக்களுக்கும் பெரும் துயரத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது.  அவர் ஒருமுறை வாசுகி, ரவி (சூரியக் கடவுள்) மற்றும் சோமா (சந்திரன் கடவுள்) ஆகியோரை அவமதித்தார்.  இராவணனால் ஏற்பட்ட கஷ்டங்களைக் காண முடியாமல், அவர்கள் பிரம்மாவை அணுகி ராவணனிடம் நிவாரணம் கோரினர்.  கோஸ்தானி ஆற்றின் கரையில் சிவலிங்கத்தை நிறுவி, சிவபெருமானைப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்யும்படி பிரம்மா சொன்னார், இதனால் கொடூரமான இராவணனைப் பிடித்து அவர்களின் துயரங்களை முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவர ராமர் பிறக்கிறார்.  பிரம்மா, வாசுகி, ரவி, சோமா ஆகியோரின் அறிவுறுத்தலின் படி கோஸ்டானி ஆற்றங்கரையில் சிவலிங்கத்தை தற்போதைய ஜூட்டிகா கிராமத்தில் நிறுவி ராமாவதருக்கு விதைகளை வைத்தார்.  இங்குள்ள சிவன் பக்தர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து அவர்களின் வாழ்நாளில் மட்டுமல்ல, இறந்த பிறகும் அவர்களின் ஆசைகளை நிறைவேற்றுகிறார்.  இந்த கோவிலில் சிவனை வழிபடுவோருக்கு எதிரிகளிடமிருந்து நிவாரணம் கிடைக்கும்.  கடன்களை திருப்பிச் செலுத்துவதற்கான வலிமையை அவர்கள் மீண்டும் பெறுகிறார்கள்;  அவர்களின் ஆரோக்கியம் முன்பைப் போலவே மேம்படுகிறது மற்றும் மரண பயத்திலிருந்து அவர்களை விடுவிக்கிறது.  திங்கட்கிழமைகளில் இறைவனிடம் இங்கே ‘அபிஷேகம்’ செய்து ‘அன்னதானம்’ செய்பவர்கள் நன்மை பயக்கும்.  சிவராத்திரியில் இறைவனை வணங்குபவர்கள் பிறப்பு மற்றும் இறப்பு சுழற்சியில் இருந்து விடுபட்டு கைலாசத்தில் என்றென்றும் தங்கியிருக்கிறார்கள்.  நோய், குணப்படுத்த முடியாத நோய்களால் பாதிக்கப்படுபவர்கள் இங்கு மிருதுஞ்சய அபிசேகம் செய்து நிவாரணம் பெறலாம்.  சிவராத்திரி விழா ஜுட்டிகா கிராமத்திலும், நட்டா ராமேஸ்வரத்திலும் மிகுந்த பக்தியுடனும், மத ஆர்வத்துடனும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

 இந்த கோயில் வளாகத்தில் பார்வதி தேவி கோயில், பத்ரா காளி கோயில், வீரபத்ரா கோயில், ஸ்ரீ லட்சுமி ஜனார்த்தன சுவாமி கோயில் மற்றும் துர்கா தேவி கோயில், ஸ்ரீ சுப்பிரமணீஸ்வர சுவாமி கோயில் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ காமாட்சி கோயில் ஆகியவை உள்ளன.
